  • Actor-Inspired Element:
    • Bonnie's Girlish Pigtails were Harley Cubberley's idea.
    • Adam Douglas gave Deco a mild stutter.
    • Bobby Calloway recommended Harley Cubberley, Thomas Fitzgerald and Adam Douglas for their respective parts.
  • Corpsing:
    • Martin Briody burst into giggles when trying to remain serious for the scene of Maggie and Zoe's interrogation.
    • Bobby Calloway had to look down at the paper for the first part of his scene to avoid laughing at Miranda Hamilton's lines.
    • Thomas Fitzgerald likewise when filming Archie's Held Gaze with Officer Prey.
  • The Danza: Bobby Calloway as Robbie Clyde. Who is the son of Bob.
  • Dawson Casting:
    • Archie is implied to be underage. Thomas Fitzgerald was 22.
    • The script confirms Maggie and Zoe are still in school, making Agnieszka Bialek an example too.
  • Deleted Role: Mamita Lendo's role as Mrs Jones was cut down to just three lines (see below).
  • Enforced Method Acting: As Rebecca Dunne had already filmed her scene as Patsy Pinkett, they played it for Adam Douglas so he would know who he was fantasizing about.
  • Funny Character, Boring Actor:
    • Inverted with Martin Briody. Despite playing the Reasonable Authority Figure, he's one of the funniest members of the cast and can be seen acting all perky in the end credits.
    • Likewise inverted with Harley Cubberley - who plays the Cold Ham Bonnie and is a Genki Girl in real life.
  • Looping Lines: Maggie and Zoe's scenes had to be done with ADR due to problems with the sound equipment on the day.
  • Missing Trailer Scene: The teaser trailer includes the following.
    • Maggie wondering why old people smell funny.
    • A slow motion zoom into Officer Hope's face.
    • Officer Prey saying "if the face fits" while interrogating Mikey.
  • No Budget: Ronya Phoenix made the entire film out of her own pocket - including making the Garda uniforms herself.
  • Orphaned Reference: Sharon calling Officer Hope "Scrooge" is a remnant of their deleted backstory, where she dumped him for being too tight with money (and he didn't lend her any change to get the bus home).
  • The Other Marty: The first Archie and Deco scene was filmed with different actors, and the original Deco dropped out last minute, requiring DP Eli Cahn to fill in. Afterwards, the original Archie dropped out, requiring that scene to be re-shot too - now with Thomas Fitzgerald as Archie and Adam Douglas as Deco.
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Greg Young normally would be the Only Sane Man, making it different for him to play a Casanova Wannabe.
    • Adam Douglas was previously the smartest character in The Nutters. Not so much here.
    • Harley Cubberley joked that she's normally the murder victim, so it was refreshing to be on the other side as Bonnie.
  • Playing Their Own Twin: Agnieszka Bialek plays the twin sisters Maggie and Zoe.
  • Those Two Actors:
    • Greg Young and Adam Douglas are reunited from The Nutters and are co-producers (and cast members) of the miniseries Unknown Enemies.
    • Bobby Calloway and Thomas Fitzgerald also starred in Aaron and High and Tight.
  • Throw It In!:
    • Bobby Calloway ad-libbed Robbie making the sign of the cross when his mother is mentioned.
    • Officer Prey stuttering over "stop playing silly mind games, boy" was Singh Charanjit having trouble with his line, but it was left in for Rule of Funny.
  • Typecasting: Thomas Fitzgerald often gets cast as a Lower-Class Lout, and had just played one in the short Pints.
  • Underage Casting: Greg Young felt that Alan was a twentysomething hedonist and grew out his beard to look older - as he was eighteen when he filmed his part, and turned nineteen shortly after.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original story was a straightforward drama. However, Miranda Hamilton realised the comedic potential in the material and it became a dark comedy.
    • Singh Charanjit was a last minute replacement for another actor who had to return to India during filming.
    • The Clyde mother was just out at the shops in the original script. Rewrites placed her in prison.
    • The scenes with the twins, the Joneses and Sharon were scripted to be individual - but were compressed into a montage for pacing reasons. Sharon's scene involved her being confirmed as Officer Hope's ex girlfriend, now married to a man called Mr Wright.
    • Jordan Lennon was in talks to play Archie, bringing a third cast member from The Nutters on board, but was unavailable. Anthony O'Reilly Jr, host of The Alright Podcast was supposed to be Deco - but fell ill.
  • Word of God: Ronya Phoenix joked that if a sequel were made, Bonnie and Robbie would be attempting to survive in the wilderness.
  • Word of Saint Paul: According to Bobby Calloway, the Clyde mother is called Connie. He also felt Robbie may have an attraction to Bonnie.
