- Ascended Fanfic: The Viking Conquest DLC is more or less the Brytenwalda mod ascended as an official Mount & Blade DLC and ported by Brytenwalda developpers.
- Dummied Out:
- Firearms and things that were in earlier releases but patched out. They can be brought back by changing a single value in the module.ini filenote .
- Same with the black knight armor, though the Black Knights themselves are still out.
- Fandom Nod: Grunwalder castle was named for a supposedly deceased popular member of the Taleworlds forums - it later turned out that he had probably faked it. Some gameplay features first appeared in mods.
- Promoted Fanboy: Due to the active modding community through years of public beta, some modders have become part of the official development team.
- What Could Have Been: In very early stages of development, the game was called Way of the Sword, then Warrider.
