- Completely Different Title: The Arabic name for the animated series is Alkalb Aldhakiu (الكلب الذكي), which means "smart dog".
- Follow the Leader: The animated series came not long after Garfield and Friends, another (far more successful) Animated Adaptation of a comic strip. Not only that, it was on the same network (CBS), made by the same studio (Film Roman, though MGM Television acted as co-producer for some reason), and even had Mark Evanier as the head writer.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes:
- Archives of the strips from before 2004 seem to be largely nonexistent on the Internet.
- The animated series has never had an official home release of any kind, though thankfully all the episodes survived through bootlegs.
- Real-Life Relative: Grimmy and Mother Goose in the cartoon were voiced by real-life couple Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall, who writer Mark Evanier had previously worked with on the short-lived 1970s game show Rhyme and Reason.
