• Acting for Two: In addtion to playing major characters, iris menas, Courtney Lin, Kausar Mohammed, and Valeria Rodriguez all voice various side and minor characters.
• Actor-Shared Background: In general, the show is good about casting voice actors who match the ethnic identity/gender identity/disabilities/etc. of the characters they play. For example, Coach Thunderbird, a character based on a creature from Native American mythology, is played by Tamara Podemski, an actress of Canadian First Nations descent.
• The Cast Show Off: Meowlody and Purrsephone are played by Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome, who make up the band Garfunkel and Oates. The werecats themselves end up as part of a band and get a duet in "Mixed-Up Meowlody".
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Skelly Vonderbone is voiced by drag queen Trixie Mattel.
• Diagnosis of God: Showrunner Shea Fontana confirmed that Meowlody has ADHD when asked about it by a fan.
• Disabled Character, Disabled Actor:
  • Kayla Cromer, an autistic actress, voices the autistic Twyla Boogeyman.
  • Finnegan Wake, who gets around using a wheelchair, is voiced by Cole Massie, who has cerebral palsy and uses both a wheelchair and a walker.
• The Other Darrin: While some of them appear as other characters, none of the voice actors from the previous two generations reprise their original roles.
• Queer Character, Queer Actor: Frankie is nonbinary and voiced by iris menas, who is also nonbinary.
