- The Other Darrin:
- The role of the Medicine Seller was originally played by Takahiro Sakurai in the TV series and in Ayakashi, but will be played by Hiroshi Kamiya in the movie.
- Due to the dub not being produced by Ocean, Mononoke recasts every returning character. The Medicine Seller is voiced by Victor Lee instead of Andrew Francis and Lydia Lee Tang takes over as Kayo for Kelly Sheridan.
- Release Date Change: The movie is supposed to be released in 2023. However, Sakurai's scandal forced the producers to lay him off from his role as the Medicine Seller, causing a delay in the release. After they hired Hiroshi Kamiya to be his replacement, the movie's release is scheduled for Summer 2024.
- Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Back in October 2022, Takahiro Sakurai got exposed by tabloids for having a 10-year extramarital affair with a writer from his radio show along with having another mistress during that time. Because of this, his roles are replaced including his role as the Medicine Seller for the 2024 movie.
