Trivia / Mokku of the Oak Tree

  • He Also Did: This series features episode direction by Fumio Kurokawa, who would later move on to work at Nippon Animation, perhaps most famously as director of another very emotionally intense series, Princess Sarah. That series also features a protagonist who becomes a lightning rod for misfortune and suffering, although none of Sarah's misfortune is really her fault.
  • Pop-Culture Urban Legends: There is a rumor that the anime, aside from having the Polish dub based on Saban-dubbed version that premiered in 1998 on Fox Kids Poland, also had an earlier dub which was based on original Japanese version that aired on TP1 (now TVP1) in years 1984-1987. Actually there are at least a few proofs that debunk that myth:
    • There are no indications of the anime being present in 1984-1987 schedules of TP1 or its sister channel TP2 (now TVP2).
    • Miriam Aleksandrowicz (who was the supposed director of the "original" dub) didn't start directing the Polish dubs at the time the first Polish dub would have been released.
    • After dubbing projects lists (along with technical crews) of Studio Opracowań Filmów (the supposed dubbing studio) for years 1981-1997 have surfaced on the Internet in mid-2010s, no mentions about the show have been found in them.
