• Development Hell: The HBO adaptation has been in this for a couple of years because of issues with Executive Meddling related to the Minority Show Ghetto (basically, executives wanted to change the race of the characters to make it "more appealing").
• Fandom Nod: "White Jay" is almost always called "White Jay." J and CeCe now refer to him as "White Jay".
• Spiritual Successor: The eventual HBO adaptation became a wholly new series called Insecure, though it shares many similar traits with this show including Issa Rae producing and starring.
