• Fake American: Geraldine Viswanathan is Australian but uses an American accent when portraying Eliza in Season 1. She maintains the accent when playing Alexandra in Season 2 despite the setting moving into medieval Europe. It becomes more appropriate in Season 3 and the setting moving to 19th-century America.
• Schedule Slip: Season 4 was supposed to be released in January of 2023, but was removed from the schedule without explanation by TBS. It would later go out in July of 2023.
• What Could Have Been: The show was originally conceived as a single-season adaptation of the novel What in God's Name. But the show proved to be popular enough that TBS commissioned another season and another after that.
