• Follow the Leader: Hello Kitty is often accused of this, being drawn in a similar style. There have been various legal clashes, but Bruna and Sanrio ended these after the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster and donated the money they would have spent on legal fees to disaster relief.
  • Ray Goossens's Musti is a straight example. For a long time, it was rumoured to predate Miffy. However, there is no actual evidence of this, the only source being an entirely unrelated book on 3D graphics. All evidence suggests that Musti's first appearance was in 1969, the year its first animated series premiered, which would make Musti a copy of Miffy. Further adding to this idea is that while the child Musti character himself uses an "X" instead of a mouth, like Miffy, his adult mother and father have an extra horizontal line in their "X" mouths, exactly how the mouths of Miffy's own parents (and grandparents) are portrayed.
• The Merch: Miffy branded merchandise is very popular with both children and adults.
• No Export for You: Three books are only available in Dutch. Hangoor (Flopear), Nijntje en de seizoenen (Miffy and the seasons) and Een cadeau voor Opa Pluis (A gift for Grandpa Bunny).
