• Orphaned Series:
  • In 2019 mezzacotta became a rare example of a series being unintentionally orphaned due to technical reasons - namely, the algorithm creating the comics breaking down following a software update.
  • Eavesdropper was intended to run for about 100 strips. Only 50 were published, barring two "intermissions", with it not updating since June of 2018.
• Recycled Script: There are two strips, published only a month apart, where there's only one character on the screen, and they only say the word "Well?" and nothing else.
• Schedule Slip:
  • Lightning Made of Owls had no updates between September 2021 and August 2022.
  • Although Awkward Fumbles doesn't have a schedule, it didn't update at all between May and August 2009, due to it being more work for the Irregulars than the other comics, where the readers do all the work. It changed with an overhaul, allowing readers to not only draw but also write the strip. It then had no updates for four months following November 2009. Awkward Fumbles would then not update again until a brief four-comic revival in July 2014, never being updated again after.
