- Bonus Episode: The Mermaid's Scar two-parter made DVD-only in Japan, due to having content (likely the Gorn) way too extreme for even late-night broadcast.

- The entire supporting seiyú cast was changed between the original two OVAs and the TV series with only Kōichi Yamadera and Minami Takayama reprising their roles as Yuta and Mana respectively.
- The entire English cast changed between the Mermaid Forest and Mermaid's Scar OVAs, and then again for the TV anime. The Mermaid Forest OVA (dubbed in the UK by Manga Entertainment) featured Michael McGhee as Yuta and Anne-Marie Zola as Mana while Mermaid's Scar (dubbed by Ocean Studios in Vancouver) featured Jason Gray-Stanford as Yuta and Lalainia Lindbjerg as Mana. The TV anime (dubbed by New Generation Pictures in Los Angeles) briefly featured Justin Gross as Yuta before he was replaced with Liam O'Brien beginning with episode 4 while Megan Hollingshead voiced Mana (under the alias Karen Thompson).
