Trivia / Mega Man Rock Force

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: More exposition was added to the plot to make it easier to sympathize with the robots, and the ending was revised after complaints about how needlessly dark and sudden it was.
    • It Retcons that it was the bosses of those Robot Masters specifically treating them unfairly instead of humanity at large.
    • Crypt Man, in the intro, makes it clear that while his comrades got triggerhappy in their takeovers, they legitimately wanted to avoid needlessly harming people. The Robots' revolt is also more fleshed out, being a direct result of Mega Man 9's expiration date law.
    • The Robot Masters aren't killed, which solves a glaring continuity error, and better explains why Justice Man can't come back (his Integrated Circuit became too damaged to fix).
    • The ending's tone is made much more hopeful. It shows that the Robot Masters finally being far more fairly treated by their human bosses, and getting to choose their jobs now afterwards. The 'Mandated Expiration Date' for robots is also abolished too, which Justice Man was originally fighting to abolish.
    • While decent, GoldwaterDLS' original songs are considered not quite as good as Kevvviiinnn's free songs used for the game, and some are too similar to each other. The whole soundtrack later got remixed by a new wave of chiptune artists, so that the songs all mesh with each other better, and GoldwaterDLS plans to use this revised soundtrack in the final update.
    • GoldwaterDLS has considered splitting the final level into two separate ones, to reduce its length.
    • The final update is planned to have an additional third base for the battle with Justice Man, which GoldwaterDLS was rather coy about and wanted to keep a total surprise.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: With the site's hosting having expired in 2023, there is no way to download the game on an official website as of current writings.
  • Renamed to Avoid Association: Boom Man's name was originally Fuse Man, but was renamed after an official Fuse Man was introduced in Mega Man 11.
  • Schedule Slip: Tends to happen for the game's updates.
  • What Could Have Been: The final stage was going to have statues of the game's first 8 Robot Masters, as a tribute on Justice Man's part, but GoldwaterDLS had put himself on a deadline for the game's initial release, so he settled with the Splash Woman statues and had players speculate over them.
    • Thrill Man's design would have gotten syringes hooked onto his arms (presumably representing an adrenaline rush), only for GoldwaterDLS to ultimately be unable to accurately draw them on his sprite, so they got omitted.
    • Fuse Man's name was used prior to Mega Man 11's reveal of an official Fuse Man. Consequently, it was changed to Boom Man after enough fans suggested the replacement name. He was also originally blue, but changed to gray to distance him from Pulse Man.
    • The Fusion Masters were originally intended to be themed after the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but GoldwaterDLS reconsidered this due to having trouble formulating sensible Robot Master components of the fusions, as well as wanting Death Man to be the ultimate combination. The only other remnants of the concept are Plague Man (combination of Pulse Man and Virus Man) of the original set, and War Man (combination of Boom Man and Shock Man) of the alternate set.
