  • Incidental Multilingual Wordplay: In regards to Ms. Madd's name. "Madoi" is the pronunciation of 惑い, a term meaning "delusion; illusion; infatuation; bewilderment; perplexity". Delusion in particular is one of the mental states described by the English term "Madness", allowing the localization team to preserve a certain sense of her Meaningful Name with the Barely-Changed Dub Name Ms. Madd.
  • No Export for You: The DS port only released in Japan due to low sales and coming out several years after the franchise concluded. To add insult to injury, while the later Legacy collection was released outside of Japan, it didn't include any of the DS port's improvements or additions.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The game started development as a horror title. Almost nothing about this version is known — even if it was Mega Man related — other than its existence.
    • An early concept had the game as three separate versions. Two versions would follow a pair of twins — named Seimai Kazama and Roudou Kazama — with each version having you play as one twin with their own MegaMan. The last version had Lan as the main character and was meant to release as a more direct tie-in to the anime.
    • Roll was originally the NetNavi of a character named Mike Kenen, who was intended as a rival. Mike would have given Roll to Mayl and then come into possession of Bass.
    • WoodMan has an unused overworld sprite and mugshot, which is unusual for an Optional Boss that don't appear outside their operator's PET. Several earlier screenshots did show WoodMan as the stage boss of the School Comp instead of NumberMan, and was likely going to be tied with the WoodProgram (which was obtained off-screen in the final product).
