Trivia / Meet the Feebles

  • Bad Export for You / Digital Destruction: The German DVD release is in horrible quality, as it's basically a video master that uses a cinema version of the film reel, which still has black-and-white cue marks in certain and is cropped in a way that leads to some of the picture of the film being lost in some shots. The English audio track is also in Mono sound and is out of sync at multiple parts of the film (especially towards the end). The French DVD also uses the same film reel, but rather it's a master from a grainy film print. The Australian and the UK DVD releases are way better releases than the German and French DVDs, as the quality is much better, lacking the cue marks and having a better English audio track that's in stereo.
  • Banned in China: This film was banned in Ireland.
  • Descended Creator: Danny Mulheron, one of the movie's writers, was the puppeteer for Heidi.
  • Denied Parody: Many sources, even This Very Wiki, list this film as a parody of The Muppets. However, in a 1993 interview, creator Peter Jackson said that this is not the case. Instead of a Muppets parody, the film is more of a satire on human behavior, according to him.
    • At the end of the day, while it's not the actual focus of the film so much as the characters themselves are (hence Jackson's above statement), the in-universe show that serves as the crux of the plot is a blatant send-up of The Muppet Show, which means the movie is, by definition, a parody of The Muppets.
  • Prop Recycling: One of the alien masks from Bad Taste, Peter Jackson's previous movie, can be seen in the audience.
  • Referenced by...: In The Muppets Mayhem episode "Track 7: Eight Days a Week", Peter Jackson comes in to shoot his own documentary of The Electric Mayhem and Floyd Pepper says they haven't seen Jackson since a night they spent in Wellington, when the band met the Feebles. Jackson responds with "Yeah, it was a bad night. You know, two of the Feebles are in witness protection. The rest are in prison."
  • Similarly Named Works: Not works, but Similarly Named Characters:
    • Sebastian the Fox was the name of a kids' TV show that was fairly popular in Australia and New Zealand in the early '60s.
    • There was a series of cartoons about an elephant named Sidney, with a similar personality.
