• Creator Backlash: William Christopher was vocally annoyed about the scene where he had to play Father Mulcahy as completely unaware of Frank and Margaret's affair, feeling it made the character look silly and overly naive.
• First Appearance: David Ogden Stiers as Major Charles Emerson Winchester III.
  • To a lesser extent, as he returns in a later episode, Colonel Baldwin.
  • Also the first mention of General Lyle Weiskopf, who threw a party for Margaret and Donald on their honeymoon and later appeared in the flesh in "Hot Lips is Back in Town".
• What Could Have Been: The show's producers originally wanted to give Frank Burns a proper on-screen sendoff at the start of Season 6, and tried to convince Larry Linville to come back for a special farewell episode (similar to what would be done for Gary Burghoff's Radar two years later) which would have simultaneously introduced the Winchester character, but Linville demurred.
