Trivia / M*A*S*H S4 E18: Hawkeye

• The Cast Showoff: Alan Alda briefly juggles two garlic cloves and a clay cup, which is trickier than it looks due to the difference in shape and weight of the objects.
• Science Marches On: At the time the episode was made (and, of course, at the time of the Korean War), it was believed that someone with a concussion had to be kept awake to keep them from falling into a coma (which isn't true). It was, however, necessary to keep someone awake to measure their alertness and activity to determine whether they had brain bleeding; this is no longer necessary. Hawkeye references this, saying that some believe a person will die if they go to sleep while they have a concussion but it's not true — Hawkeye is only keeping himself awake because he's afraid he'll die if he goes to sleep with a concussion! Seeing as how he is pacing around and keeps up a monologue for a considerable amount of time, he clearly didn't have that bad a concussion.
