• In Memoriam: The episode is dedicated to the memory of Connie Izay, a registered nurse who acted as a technical advisor to the series from 1977 until her death in 1982.
• The scene of the Time Capsule being buried was the final scene shot for the entire series ("Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" was shot before the rest of Season 11). A veritable army of press photographers were on site to take pictures after director Burt Metcalfe said "That's a wrap!"
