Trivia / Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: EA is not proud of this game due to selling poorly enough that Marvel cut ties and went back to Activision.
  • Exiled from Continuity: Somewhat. According to writer Jonathan Maberry, despite being created by EA, the titular Imperfects are considered Marvel properties and thus can be used in future media with little issue, leading to Hazmat's accidental cameo in his series Marvel Universe vs. the Avengers. However, due to the commercial failure of their debut game, it's unlikely that Keith and the rest of the Imperfects will ever be implemented in the mainline canon.
  • Role Reprise: David Kaye as Iron Man, reprising the role from Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Due to the way Marvel licensed out its properties, each video game developer could only use the comic company’s characters in the context of a single genre. As a result, Nihilistic Studios had no choice but to develop Marvel Nemesis as a fighting game.
  • Stillborn Franchise: The game was meant to start off not only the Marvel Nemesis series but also the Imperfects franchise since that team was created and owned by EA, but sold and was received poorly.
