Trivia / Marvel NOW! (2016)

Go To

  • Development Hell:
    • The Gamora series was originally announced at NYCC 2014, meaning it took nearly two years for it to finally be published.
    • CAGE! was rumored to be a project since around 2005. Nobody seriously expected it to see the light of the day ever.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: A minor one - Kate Bishop's look in the promotional artwork originates from a redesign of her character created by an artist called Vylla, which was rather popular. As it turns out, this was actually a mistake on Mike Deotato's part; the design was so popular that it ended up being mistaken for a canon design when he created the promotional work.
  • Trolling Creator: Axel Alonso has admitted that Marvel is slightly guilty of trolling X-Men fans, regarding their perceived marginalization of mutants — hence why the only X-Men title announced for the initial wave was Death of X.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Back when the Clone Conspiracy was called Dead No More, there was going to be a crossover with Web Warriors... and then Web Warriors was cancelled. They could've done that storyline in Spider-Gwen instead (as a Fully Absorbed Finale?), but it looks like they decided to exclude her and Miles Morales completely, having those two team up instead. Only Silk, Prowler, and Amazing Spider-Man will be tying in to the event.
      • The final issue of Web Warriors did say the team would return in the Clone Conspiracy event however. But so far that's turned out to be just Gwen, who teams up with Scarlet Spider.
    • A cover in the Marvel NOW! Previews magazine showed The Infamous Iron Man, aka Doctor Doom, as one of the Avengers. He was replaced by the Amazing Spider-Man at the request of Brian Michael Bendis.
