- Dummied Out: The manual for the SNES version reveals that choosing an invalid year and/or destination was originally supposed to send you back to "Dinosaur Land" after the time surfing segment. For whatever reason, this was jettisoned in favor of the game simply returning you directly to the museum.
- Falsely Advertised Accuracy: The game's educational value is dubious on account of numerous historical errors
. In general, a lot of characters are not the proper ages for the year Mario travels to, they make anachronistic references to things that don't exist yet, and so forth.
