• California Doubling: Averted - all of the scenes, including the ones at the Roosevelt Hotel, were shot on location in New York City.
• Fake Nationality: Suzie Morales, the TV reporter who's supposed to be Latino-American, is played by Kyra Sedgwick.
• Hey, It's That Place!: Or, rather, "Hey, it's that model" - the model David Englander is showing of the building he's planning to construct was also used in an episode of White Collar.
• Irony as She Is Cast: Sam Worthington is afraid of heights in real life, though it's subverted by the fact he took the role because of his fear.
• Star-Derailing Role: This film and Wrath of the Titans tanking killed Sam Worthington's career in 2012, after he got a lot of hype starring in Avatar three years earlier. Worthington's situation worsened in 2014 when he was involved in legal trouble, following an altercation with paparazzi. He didn't have a lead role in a major Hollywood movie until 2022 when he reprised his role in the sequel Avatar: The Way of Water. Time will tell if he'll rebound.
• What Could Have Been: Amy Adams was considered for the part of Lydia Mercer.
