• Actor-Inspired Element: It was Charlie Sheen's idea to be credited under his birth name.

• Contractual Purity: Alexa Vega lobbied to be in the film to break her wholesome typecasting from Spy Kids, Sleepover and Odd Girl Out. Robert Rodriguez initially didn't want to cast her, still seeing her as a little girl. She responded that she was now twenty-four, and therefore a grown woman, and was given the part. He would also cast her in a similar role as a stripper in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
