• Box Office Bomb: Budget, $8,500,000. Box office, $2,287,928.
• Creator Killer: Director Lizzie Borden has only directed one more movie since this film (a segment part of the anthology film Erotique). She had pitched several ideas for films to direct, but for some reason or other, those were abandoned, and she has since settled for being an uncredited script doctor.
• Executive Meddling: Lizzie Borden has said in an interview that Harvey Weinstein wanted the ending changed before the film even began production, throwing production into chaos. The film was taken out of her hands during post-production and filmmaker Kit Carson shot flashbacks against Borden's will. Borden wanted to take her name off the film but Weinstein threatened to "destroy her career" if she did. She also said there was never a "director's cut" despite what marketing said; this was just a marketing ploy by Weinstein to release a version with more erotic footage in the hopes of drawing more box office.
