• California Doubling: Averted for the scene of Sun approaching Widmore which really was shot in London as Alan Dale was unable to travel to Hawaii due to his commitments to Spamalot.
• Foiler Footage: In order to protect the final twist, the reveal of who was in the coffin was also filmed with Sawyer and Desmond. Lindelof and Cuse joke on the DVD Commentary about how nervous they were watching the episode air, as they realised they would have a huge hole to write themselves out of if the editor included the wrong piece of footage in the final cut.
