• B-Team Sequel: Antoine Fuqua refused to direct this sequel because he didn't like the script.
• California Doubling: Although a great deal of the movie was filmed on location, certain scenes which were impossible to film in London (such as the gun battle outside St. Pauls Cathedral) were instead filmed in Sofia, Bulgaria. India also doubled for the scenes set in rural Pakistan and Yemen.
• Dueling Movies: With another Gerard Butler film, Gods of Egypt. Both films, however, were euthanized by a third contender, Zootopia.
• Fake American: One of the most rousing pro-America action-movie speeches of the 2010s was delivered by a Scottish actor.
• Money, Dear Boy: Morgan Freeman confirmed this in a Digital Spy interview as the reason why he reprised his role for the sequel and was being honest when he said it.
• Prop Recycling: Air Force One is a repaint of the modified 747, registration G-BDXJ, used in Casino Royale (2006). You can recognize it by the twin engines in each of the inner wing pylons and fuel tanks on the outboard ones.
• Release Date Change: The original October 2015 release date was pushed back to March 2016.
