  • Creator Backlash: Chad Taylor has many bad things to say about how their label was handling them in 2001, such as the interference that led to V (see below), not caring to promote the songs that were on the massively successful The Mummy Returns and The Fast and the Furious, and both choosing “Simple Creed” as a video and its video which he deemed as blatantly commercial.
  • Executive Meddling: According to the group, their record label pressured them to release the songs on V as an album against their wishes. Chad Taylor especially looks back on this period with disdain, and has admitted to even contemplating suicide while they were on tour in New Zealand because it made him so depressed. Taylor also says this is the point where Ed Kowalczyk became more important than the rest of the band in the record label's eyes. It only got worse from there...
