• Critical Dissonance - Although Liturgy are quite divisive in the metal community, professional music critics have had almost nothing but praise for most of their music. In particular, the popular music review website Allmusic has given Aesthethica a perfect five-star rating, which they don't do all that commonly with black metal albums (though there are several other examples, including Krallice's Diotima, Panopticon's Kentucky, Darkthrone's A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse, and Negură Bunget's OM).
• Trolling Creator - While this isn't explicitly confirmed, it's a popular interpretation, especially since The Ark Work was released. Multiple reviewers outright accused Liturgy of trolling their audience.
