Trivia / Las Vegas

For the NBC television series:

• Cut Short: Partially due to ratings issues, but also by the 2007 writer's strike.
• The Danza/Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Wheelchair-bound security specialist Mitch played by real life paraplegic actor Mitch Longley.
• Life Imitates Art: the production office received numerous phone-calls from would-be gamblers who wished to stay at their fictional casino, seeming not to realise that it didn't actually exist. Las Vegas cab drivers faced many similar requests.
  • After the power cut in the episode "The Night the Lights Went Out in Vegas" the Bellagio hotel lost its' electricity supply in reality just a few months later.
• Recycled Set: Since location shooting turned out to be a pain, huge, expensive sets were constructed in LA for the show to use; as a result, they tended to pop up in other shows, including Heroes and Monk.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Don Johnson was considered for Ed Deline. He was the one who came up with the idea for the series.
  • There were plans for a Fully Absorbed Finale in the 2008 reboot of Knight Rider (which featured the Montecito in the first episode), but those plans were torpedoed by KR08's cancellation.
• Working Title: Casino Eye.
