  • Looping Lines: In the second game, Luther is physically portrayed by Paul Bastardo, but his speaking voice is provided by Sean Masterson.
  • The Pete Best: Richard Smith voiced King Richard in the floppy disk release of the first game, which only featured spoken dialogue during the introductory sequence. He was famously replaced by Patrick Stewart for the CD-ROM upgrade. (Smith was compensated with the role of Ak’Shel.)
  • Promoted Fanboy: One of the major reasons they were able to get Patrick Stewart to voice King Richard was the fact he was already a big fan of role-playing games and was more than happy to voice a character in one.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • No less than eight titles had been planned for the series. It ended up consisting of three.
    • Dawn, the mage that got trapped in a crystal ball within Castle Cimmeria, was originally meant to be playable from the point you rescue her. She's still in the code, just not implemented.
    • In the third game, most of the guilds and guild quests are unfinished. The thieves guild in particular; you simply show up, receive your familiar, then never need to go back. It is possible to glitch your way past a 'locked' door to find a fully functional target range, which was presumably to be used in your 'initiation' quest. Likewise, the magician's guild final quest is immediately completed... upon entering an empty room. You were SUPPOSED to get a quest to rescue one of the wizards, who would be present in that room. Instead, the programmers just got lazy.
