  • The film claims to be depicting an accurate representation of transgender athletes. In reality, there are considerable restrictions in place for transgender athletes: To compete in the women's division, a trans athlete has to have been on HRT for months, with their hormone levels carefully monitored. Putting on feminine clothing and announcing that you're transgender will not work. This is why the filmmakers had to change their initial vision of the film from a documentary to a fictional narrative.
  • The film doesn't even get the basics of basketball right; the protagonist's team doesn't have enough players to compete in a basketball tournament.
• Mid-Development Genre Shift: The film was originally intended to be a documentary about a team of cisgender male athletes pretending to be transgender women to play in a women's sports league before being retooled into a fictional comedy when they found out that people can't actually pretend to be trans to play in women's sports.
