• Distanced from Current Events: The original cut of the film featured the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. According to the DVD commentary, when the film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2001, there were audible gasps from the audience during the scenes where the towers were shown. Eventually, the filmmakers decided to cut all scenes featuring the towers for the general release nine months later.
