• Casting Gag: Ju Ji-hoon shot to stardom playing Crown Prince Lee Shin in the 2006 rom-com Goong. Here he plays a crown prince again, but one with much bigger problems.
• Darkhorse Casting: In the English dub, besides Greg Chun and a cameo from Johnny Yong Bosch, most of the cast was voiced by new actors, mostly of Korean descent.
• Similarly Named Works: There are at least two other series called Kingdom.
