- What Could Have Been:
- Neal Adams originally intended Killraven to be the son of a Doc Savage-type character.
- Don McGregor had several ideas planned out up 'till issue #42 of the series, but it was cancelled. Some of the ideas included the return of Sabre and Mint Julep. One or two were recycled into the graphic novel story. Specifically, McGregor and P. Craig Russell did plan a finale story in which Killraven took the fight to Mars itself, but the plans fell through due to Marvel not agreeing to print the story in their best available format at the time.
- As part of a 1990s pitch to revamp the Marvel 2099 line, Grant Morrison and Mark Millar would have incorporated the 1970s Killraven stories, including making the character Ravage
Killraven's descendant. It would also have included the Martians returning and fighting the superheroes of 2099, and Galactus eating Mars.
