Trivia / Ketsui

  • Dummied Out: The announcer has a few clips that are never spoken in-game, such as as "Just a couple more shots!", "Please continue!", and "Game Over."
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Originally, the IKD 2007 release was restricted to a one-day event at a CAVE festival, but it would be saved from this trope 11 years later when it was made available as DLC for Ketsui Deathtiny.
  • Late Export for You: The game was not released outside of Japan until 2020, 17 years later, by way of the localized Ketsui Deathtiny port for PS4. And even that release is an example unto itself, as the Japanese version was released in 2018.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The game's characters and ships made their first appearance in Europe in the DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu BLACK LABEL arrange mode, with DaiFukkatsu being released there in 2011, and in the rest of the world in 2013 with the inclusion of the Tiger Schwert in DoDonPachi Maximum. Ketsui itself was not released internationally until 2020.
  • No Export for You:
    • The original arcade version was released in Japan only.
    • DX was released only on Japanese mobile phones, and its Nintendo Switch port is also Japan-only with no plans for an overseas release.
    • Ketsui: DEATH Label as well, but it can be played on any region Nintendo DS.
    • The Xbox 360 version, and not as a region-free release.
    • The PlayStation 3 port has no region lock.
  • Refitted for Sequel: For a certain definition of "sequel"; the Dummied Out voice lines "Watch out, watch out!", "Just a couple more shots!" and "Game over!" were implemented into DoDonPachi Maximum, which features content from various CAVE games (not just DoDonPachi). These lines play when using the Tiger Schwert.
  • What Could Have Been: A PlayStation 2 port by Arika was planned, but cancelled, reportedly because the PS2 doesn't have the memory needed to do the background swapping in Stage 5note  and Arika vice president Ichiro Mihara decided he would rather have no port.
