- Dummied Out: Mystery of the Volcano still has the upgrades you could get in Round 2 from collecting stars, it's just that they are inaccessible because there are no stars in the game.
- Follow the Leader:
- The first game takes notes from the original Crash Bandicoot games, right down to a similarly linear level design.
- Kao's design and the first game's style bear a striking resemblance to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, right down to his tail swipe attack and how the boss fights work.
- Anyone who played the second game will tell you that it takes a lot of cues from Rayman 2: The Great Escape.
- Artsyle-wise, the new game draws pretty heavily from Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
- Late Export for You:
- Mystery of the Volcano was mostly limited to Poland in its original release and did not receive an official English translation at the time, though there were some fan-made translations out there. As of 2021, Mystery of the Volcano finally has a worldwide release on GOG.com along with the first two games.
- Round 2 was first released in Poland in November of 2003 while the rest of Europe saw a release in April of 2005, and it wouldn't see a North American release until March of 2006.
- Sequel Gap: The 2022 title is the first title in the series to be released since Mystery of the Volcano in 2005, 17 years prior.
- Uncredited Role: The second game doesn't credit any voice actors.
- Unspecified Role Credit: While the third game credits two voice actors (Jacek Joniec and Jan Nosal), none of them have any roles attributed.
- What Could Have Been: The team experimented the multiple ideas to bring back the series, including a remake of Mystery of the Volcano and a “more advanced” game starring a much older Kao. In the end, the team settled on doing a full-blown Continuity Reboot.
