Trivia / Kaleido Star

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In the English dub, Sarah and Doctor Kate were both voiced by Luci Christian, and there's one notable scene in the second half of season one where these two have a conversation about Yuri's changes to Kaleido Stage after he took it over.
  • Blooper: Anna and Mia's costumes change mid-conversation in one episode.
  • The Cast Showoff: In the English dub, Rob Mungle voices Anna's father Jack, who's a comedian. Mungle is also a comedian in real life.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The character booklet that comes with ADV's DVD release of the series states that Sora is in love with Yuri, and implies that Layla resents her for this.
  • Directed by Cast Member:
    • In the English dub, Sandra Krasa was the ADR director as well as Layla's voice actress.
    • The French dub was directed by Vincent Violette, who also voiced Jerry the Policeman.
  • Franchise Killer: The Latin American Spanish dub of the series was so bad it killed any attempt to bring the rest of the franchise to Latin America, to the grade to almost outright killing the career of many of the voice actors who participated in it.note  Unlike with the Latin American Spanish dub of Love Hina, another anime series with an equally bad Latin American Spanish dub, the series did get reruns, albeit in other Cartoon Network's associated spin-offs, like Boomerang. Following the reception of the dub, Latin American dubs for animation recorded in Colombia would decrease considerably.
  • No Export for You: While Latin America, Brazil, and the Philippines would at least get the first OVA, and North America, China and Sweden would also get the 2nd OVA note . France and Italy however never got any of the OVAs at all and Good dayo! Goood!! has never been released outside of Japan.
  • No Dub for You: ADV never licensed and dubbed the last two OVAs and as a result Legend of Phoenix - Layla Hamilton Story is left sub only on Funimation's rerelease meanwhile Good dayo! Goood!! has never been released in any capacity outside of Japan.
  • Star-Derailing Role: The Latin American Spanish dub of the series derailed the careers of most of the voice actresses who participated in that series.
  • Word of God: During a radio show interview with Junichi Sato, producer Toyo Ikeda confirmed that Layla's father is named Kevin Hamilton.
