- Divorced Installment: Although this show did get adapted into Beetleborgs, rumors were that Saban had instead initially planned on using footage from this show for a third season of VR Troopers, having passed over Blue SWAT.
- Follow the Leader: Both B-Fighter's direct sequel and its direct sequel had motifs involving Japanese Beetle Brothers.
- Making Use of the Twin: Takuya and Shadow, due to being identical twins - Daisuke Tsuchiya as Takuya and Keisuke Tsuchiya. (Ironically, in a case of role reversal, Keisuke had previously played Kazu/KirinRanger in Gosei Sentai Dairanger, with Daisuke as his evil clone in episode 25.)
- Prop Recycling: Simbad's sword seen in Episode 30 is a reused and recolored Hellfried Sword/Sword of Darkness.
- Real Life Writes the Plot: Reina Hazuki, the actress for Rei, was injured during the filming for episode 14. This led to Rei wearing a scarf on her neck for the next handful of episodes to cover up the scars from her actress's injury and becoming Out of Focus, as she could only film inside the studio for limited portions of time. A voice actress was also brought in her to voice her as Reddle. By episode 22, Rei was written out of the show entirely and replaced by the character of Mai Takatori.
