Trivia / Justin Timberlake

Go To

  • Attention Deficit Creator Disorder: Goes from music to acting to sports and business ventures, sometimes two activities at a time. This is mainly why there are four-to-seven year gaps between the release of his albums (four between Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds, seven between FutureSex/LoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience and five between The 20/20 Experience and Man of the Woods).
  • Breakup Breakout: Former NSYNC-er.
  • Corpsing: When co-hosting the 2003 MTV Movie Awards with Seann William Scott, Timberlake was obviously struggling to stay composed when Scott stripped down to his underwear...which had a cutout of Timberlake's face taped over his crotch.
  • Creator Breakdown: Justified was recorded roughly around the time his relationship with Britney was collapsing, and some of his actions after the album came out appeared to be extreme acting out. "Cry Me a River" and "Last Night" also definitely count.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: He lost 15-20 pounds for his role in The Social Network.
  • He Also Did:
    • His non-album song "I'm Lovin' It" was snatched up by McDonald's for their ad campaign of the same name. Twenty years later, it's still in everyone's head.
    • He appeared in an uncredited role on the series Candy (2022), starring wife Jessica Biel, as a sheriff deputy investigating a murder allegedly committed by Biel's character.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: "Rock Your Body (Instrumental)" for the 2003 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
    • He specifically wrote "I'm Lovin' It" for McDonald's.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • "Rock Your Body" was originally written for Michael Jackson. If you couldn't already tell.
    • Michael Jackson also wanted to do a duet of the *NSYNC song "Gone" with Justin, but for various reasons this never happened.
