Trivia / Justice League Unlimited S2E13 "Epilogue"

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Longtime DCAU Writer and Producer Alan Burnett has made it clear he's not a fan of the "Terry is Bruce's Biological Son" retcon.
Burnett: I didn’t work on Justice League Unlimited and I never wanted him to be that maybe I never wanted Terry to be Bruce’s Bruce’s DNA and so I don’t accept. I’ll tell you that right off the bat, and I’ve talked about [Bruce Timm] and I were are friendly about this and I just am I, feeling about Batman is that he’s the most democratic hero superhero because anybody can become him they don’t have to be heir to the throne they don’t have to have the same DNA it’s your own willpower that makes you the super guy.”
  • Refitted for Sequel: The episode incorporates story elements from a canceled sequel to Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, which would've featured Selina Kyle as the one behind Terry's creation.
  • Throw It In!: The reveal that Terry is genetically the son of Bruce Wayne was from fan observations that two parents with reddish hair were highly unlikely to produce two dark haired children.
  • Word of God: The Deliberately Monochrome scenes including Terry talking with the future Justice League, talking with Dana and confronting Bruce was said to be imaginary on the part of Terry, reflecting on what he would say and how others would react. It's not especially clear, leading audiences to believe they were flashbacks, though Terry talks to both Dana and Bruce in the denouement without any mention of what happened in those scenes, and a clock that's broken in one of them is later shown undamaged.
