- Creator Backlash: J. Michael Straczynski has said that the series is "dead" to him because of DiC screwing him and the other writers over.
- Follow the Leader: Star Wars seems to be a major influence on the series, especially most of the Five-Man Band. Jayce=Luke Skywalker, Herc=Han Solo, Gillian=Obi-Wan Kenobi and Oon=a combination of C3PO and R2D2. There's even a shot of a junked robot heavily resembling C3PO in the episode "Vase of Xiang."
- Screwed by the Merchandise: The show was canned in part due to the declining sales of the toy line.
- Uncredited Role: DIC Entertainment never credited any of the writers.
- What Could Have Been: A movie was set to be made as a Grand Finale where Jayce would meet his father Audric and be trained by the original Guardians. Saw Boss would kill Audric, but Jayce would finally unite the magic root, destroying the Monster Minds once and for all. Due to the failure of the toy line, the movie was never made.
- Working Title: Jason and the Wheeled Warriors. This is shown in promotional artwork showcased on the Shout! Factory DVD release.
