Trivia / Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Naughty Dog seems to have some regrets handing the game off to High Impact Games, for while they hold no ill will towards the developers, they admitted that they were "not happy with it being Jak's swan song" and admitted it could have been a lot better.
  • Franchise Killer: This game pretty much killed any hopes for a future regarding the Jak and Daxter franchise, at least for the time being; only HD rereleases of the first three games were put out on the PlayStation 3, with said games and Jak X being rereleased on PlayStation 4, and the odds of an entirely new game are pretty slim. Naughty Dog did attempt to do a Continuity Reboot, but cancelled it when they found their ideas didn't gel well with the franchise at all, turning those ideas into The Last of Us and leaving this as the last new game in the series, at least for now.
  • The Other Darrin: Josh Keaton plays Jak in this game rather than Mike Erwin, a role which he would reprise for Playstation All Stars Battle Royale.
  • Sequel Gap: If one were to focus only on the platformers, then there was a five-year gap between Jak 3 and this, due to the third game launching in 2004. In Japan, this is even longer, as this was their follow-up after Jak II, which launched in 2003, meaning they had a six-year gap due to 3 and X never seeing Japanese releases during their initial runs.
