• Acting for Two: Yuri Yakovlev as Bunsha and Ivan the Terrible.
• Deleted Scene: Several scenes were removed from the final product, but apparently, someone on Mosfilm made a 8-mm short-length silent movie roll featuring said cutouts, named The Black Gloves, focusing on Miroslavskiy's misfortunes, not to mention his later fate that happened roughly at the same time Ivan the Terrible was sent back to his time.
• Dolled-Up Installment: The film version throws in Shurik, previously of Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures and Kidnapping, Caucasian Style, as the inventor of the time machine, who was a different person in the play.
• Fake Nationality: Not only are the Swedish emissaries portrayed by Russian actors, but they speak German. Which is not necessarily wrong in itself, as the lingua franca of the Baltic lands at the time was the Low German used by Hanseatic merchants.
