- Edited for Syndication: In some network broadcasts of the film, subsequent to the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, Harry Butkis' line, "Yeah right, and I'm Princess Di" was edited out.
- No Stunt Double: During the horse chase scene between Kirstie Alley and Steve Guttenberg, it can be clearly seen that they are indeed the ones doing their own riding stunts in almost every clip of that scene.
- What Could Have Been:
- Mara Wilson was considered for the roles of Amanda Lemmon and Alyssa Callaway after director Andy Tennant had seen her in both Mrs. Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street. But she was unavailable as she was doing Matilda. Christina Ricci was also considered, but she was also unavailable as she was doing Casper.
- Tennant orginaly wanted Winona Ryder for the role of Diane Barrows. But the studio wouldn't allow it as they felt she was too young and wanted Julia Louis-Dreyfus instead. However, the producers of Seinfeld wouldn't let her out of her contract. Other actresses considered included Sandra Bullock, Kim Cattrall, Joan Cusack, Geena Davis, Laura Dern, Linda Hamilton, Goldie Hawn, Helen Hunt, Nicole Kidman, Andie MacDowell, Madonna, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, Catherine O'Hara, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julia Roberts, Rene Russo, Susan Sarandon, Brooke Shields, Sharon Stone, Lea Thompson and Sigourney Weaver.
- John Candy was first considered for the role of Vincenzo, but he passed away before the filmmakers could even ask him. Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Phil Collins, Robert Davi, Danny DeVito, GĂ©rard Depardieu, Bob Hoskins, Eric Idle, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Lloyd, Rik Mayall, Bob Newhart, Jack Nicholson, Joe Pesci, Paul Reubens, Patrick Stewart, Lawrence Tierney, Christopher Walken and Gene Wilder were considered.
- Shannen Doherty was considered for the role of Clarice Kensington, but she turned it down because she was busy shooting Mallrats.
