- Completely Different Title: For some reason, the French title happens to be Milliardaire malgré lui, which could roughly translate as The Accidental Billionaire, The Unwilling Billionaire or even more literally A Billionaire In Spite of Himself. The German title uses the literal translation of the (see below) Working Title: "Zwei Millionen Dollar Trinkgeld".
- Suppressed Mammaries: The buxom Rosie Perez as the small-chested Muriel. (Her breasts were bound to make her appear smaller, then released for when Muriel got implants).
- What Could Have Been:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger was slated to star in the movie, but ultimately chose to star in Last Action Hero instead. Billy Crystal was also offered the role.
- Madonna and Marisa Tomei were considered for the role of Yvonne.
- Working Title: In the movie's initial phase, it was originally called The $2 Million Tip. It was originally called Cop Gives Waitress Two Million Dollar Tip, mimicking the newspaper headline that inspired the movie.
