Trivia / Inhumans (Charles Soule)

• Dueling Works: Was constantly competing with the X-line, as the Inhumans were seen as their intended replacement due to Marvel not owning the film rights to the X-Men. While this wasn't addressed at the time, Charles Soule himself would later confirm on Ryan Stegman's podcast that the Inhumans were being made into the new X-Men at the time and that it "wasn't a secret".
• Executive Meddling: Ryan Stegman wanted to emphasize the facial deformities on the Nuhumans to highlight the idea of their condition possibly being seen as an affliction. Though he was able to do this for a few characters (notably Iso and Flint), he was eventually told to tone down the designs and make his subsequent Nuhumans more normal. This was because the Inhumans were being primed for appearances on ABC's Marvel shows (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Inhumans), and the TV division didn't want to worry about making expensive facial prosthetics for the actors.
