Trivia / Incubus

Go To

  • Black Sheep Hit: "Drive", in comparison to their earlier material. Their hits after this point have split the difference between rockers and mellower songs.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Their debut album Fungus Amongus is such an Old Shame for them that they've refused to allow any future reissues of it. Aside from a listing in Spotify (which had the track "Take Me to Your Leader" as the only playable song, which Incubus considers to be decent), it was last legally released in 2000.
  • One-Hit Wonder: They are a technical example with only "Drive" reaching the US Top 40 (It peaked at #9), but they aren't close to fading into obscurity as a true example of this trope would be. Outside the Hot 100, they have 14 Top 10 hits on the alternative charts.
  • The Pete Best: DJ Lyfe was unceremoniously fired during the tour behind S.C.I.E.N.C.E. for his bad attitude, and purposefully sabotaging a gig by turning up the feedback on his turntables. He was replaced by DJ Kilmore, who finished out the tour and has been with the band ever since. Lyfe still trolls the band occasionally online and Kilmore even had to file a restraining order against him.
  • Referenced by...: Most Likely to Murder (2018): Duane has an Incubus poster in the basement where he gives YouTube drum lessons.
