• Dyeing for Your Art: Ruth Bradley, who is quite slim and attractive in life, put on a lot of weight and made herself look dumpy and homely for this role. This, together with her great portrayal of Caroline's emotional instability and psychopathic behavior won her a best actress award at the 2009 Milan Film Festival.
• While the movie doesn't draw attention to the fact, Elizabeth's father (and Rachel's maternal grandfather) Ivan is actually a famous author. He was alive when the film was being made, although he didn't live to see it premiere, as he passed in November 2008.
