Acting for Two: In addition to Christian Bale playing two of the Dylans, several actors play a second role in the Billy McCarty sequence, including Bruce Greenwood (reporter Keenan Jones in the Jude Quinn sequence; he plays lawman Pat Garrett), Marcus Carl Franklin (he plays a boy dressed up like Charlie Chaplin), Peter Friedman (in addition to playing Morris Bernstein, he also plays a barker), and Antoine Benz (in addition to playing Bobby Seale, he plays Rabbit Brown).
Cross-Dressing Voices: In addition to the Cross-Cast Role of Jude Quinn by Cate Blanchett, in a number of countries Jude is simply voiced by Blanchett's usual dubbing actresses, such as Isabelle Gardien in France.
In Memoriam: The film is dedicated to editor Jim Lyons.
Non-Singing Voice: Neither Cate Blanchett nor Christian Bale do their own singing. The former has her song dubbed by Stephen Malkmus and the Million Dollar Bashers, and the latter by John Doe and Mason Jennings (among others). Averted with Marcus Carl Franklin, who does his own singing and guitar.
