  • Out of universe, someone asked what the fanfic it feels more like a memory would look like in the third timeline of it feels more like a memory fanfic where that version of savrenim would have listened to Burr: An American Musical and not Hamilton, which inspired this work.
  • In-Universe, the inspiration is Burr: An American Musical‘s portrayal of the friendship between James and Aaron, the loyalty that the two show one another, and the line “And if there’s a reason I’m still alive/When Aaron Burr, in my place, has died” which makes them wonder about if James Madison was the Seer instead of Aaron.
• Self-Adaptation: Out of universe, Burr: An American Musical is savrenim’s adaptation of chapters 28–35 of their fanfic it feels more like a memory, and if there’s a reason is savrenim’s adaptation of Burr: An American Musical.
