• Colbert Bump: A lot of people were introduced to Pirkle's inimitable oeuvre by The Cinema Snob, who covered all three of his films, as well as director Ron Ormond's Pirkle-free fundamentalist film The Grim Reaper.
• The Danza: "Judy" is played by Judy Creech, who never acted in anything else.
• No Budget: Estus and his wife had to fast in order to raise money for this film (along with its sequels), which even then left little for the budget. This is why the invading communists travel on horseback throughout the film and why the news reporter's desk is clearly situated in a living room.
